The Holly and the Ivy craft village is a PTF sponsored event which is always held on the first Saturday in November. This unique fund raiser is an up-scaled craft show, featuring over 35 of the area's talented crafters. The craft show is "juried" which means that all crafters must submit photos of their work, proving authenticity. The Holly and the Ivy committee ensure only a limited number of similiar crafts are displayed and tries to admit only top quality crafts. Each crafter is charged a nominal fee for their space for the day. Whatever sales they make they keep the profits. LCA makes money on their rent of space, but mostly on the homemade food that is made by parents and grandparents of LCA students and sold during the show. The show opens at 7:30 am enticing customers with the smell of sticky-buns, egg casserole and coffee for breakfast. Then lunch is served - a faire of Beef Barbeque, Shredded Turkey Sandwiches, hot soups, and of course, hot dogs for the picky eaters! Scrupmtous homemade Baked Goods are available until "sold out" thoughout the day, including pies, cookies and brownies. Where LCA is really different is in the Sparkleberry Children's area. This is a kid-friendly place where elementary-aged kids can make crafts, get their faces painted, and shop for their familiy members for the upcoming holidays in the Little Shopper's Shoppe. Gift wrapping is complimentary! There are also inspiring craft demonstrations in various rooms.
